Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 15, 2026

PetDrivr ("we," "us," or "our") operates petdrivr.com and app.petdrivr.com (together, "the Service"). This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights over it.

If you have questions, email us at hello@petdrivr.com.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us

  • Account data: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
  • Operator profile data: Business name, phone number, USDA registration number, service area, transport credentials, and profile photo if you are an operator.
  • Route data: Origin, destination, dates, pricing, pet types accepted, and available slots when operators post routes.
  • Payment data: Billing information for operator subscriptions. We use Stripe to process payments — we never store your full card number.
  • Communications: Messages you send through the Service or directly to us.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: Pages visited, searches performed, routes viewed, and features used.
  • Device data: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and approximate location.
  • Cookies: Small files placed on your device. See Section 4 for details.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate the Service: Process route searches, display operator profiles, send inquiry notifications, and manage operator subscriptions.
  • To communicate with you: Send system emails about your account, route activity, and service updates via Resend.
  • To improve the Service: Understand how people use PetDrivr and fix problems.
  • To enforce our terms: Detect fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
  • To comply with law: Respond to valid legal requests.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data to serve third-party advertising.

3. Information We Share

We share data only in these limited circumstances:

  • With other users, by design: When a pet owner unlocks an operator's contact info, that operator's phone and email become visible to that pet owner. Operators know their contact info is displayed to logged-in pet owners.
  • With service providers: We use Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Vercel (app hosting), and Hostinger (website hosting). These providers process data only as needed to deliver their services to us.
  • For legal reasons: If required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
  • In a business transfer: If PetDrivr is acquired or merged, your data may transfer to the new owner, who will be bound by this policy.

4. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies for:

  • Session management: Keeping you logged in.
  • Analytics: Understanding how the Service is used (page views, search terms, feature usage). We use privacy-respecting analytics that do not track you across other websites.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling cookies may prevent some features from working correctly, including staying logged in.

5. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.
  • Route data: Routes you post are visible until you remove them or close your account.
  • Usage logs: Retained for up to 12 months for security and troubleshooting.
  • Payment records: Retained as long as required by applicable law (typically 7 years).

6. Your Rights

All users

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your account and associated data.

EU and UK residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the EU or UK, you also have the right to object to processing, restrict processing, and data portability. Our legal basis for processing is performance of a contract (operating your account) and legitimate interests (service improvement, fraud prevention).

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California residents (CCPA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

To exercise your rights, email hello@petdrivr.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and secure database hosting through Supabase. No system is 100% secure — if you discover a security issue, please report it to hello@petdrivr.com.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email when we make material changes. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
