PetDrivr ("we," "us," or "our") operates petdrivr.com and app.petdrivr.com (together, "the Service"). This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights over it.

1. Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Operator account data: Name, email address, and password when you create an operator account.
- Operator profile data: Business name, phone number, website address, service area, transport details, optional credential badges, profile photo, and optional gallery photos if you are an operator.
- Route data: Origin, destination, dates, pricing, pet types accepted, and available slots when operators post routes.
- Booking request data: Contact information, trip details, pet details, and optional trip-preparation details submitted by pet owners when they request transport services from an operator.
- Payment data: Billing information for operator subscriptions. We use Stripe to process payments — we never store your full card number.
- Communications: Messages you send through the Service or directly to us.
- Calculator estimate emails: If you ask us to email your free calculator estimate, we use the email address you provide to send that requested one-time message. If you separately check the optional marketing box, we also record your marketing preference.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: Pages visited, searches performed, routes viewed, and features used.
- Device data: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and approximate location.
- Cookies and advertising pixels: Small files and scripts placed on your device, including the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. See Section 4 for details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To operate the Service: Process route searches, display operator profiles, deliver booking requests, provide private booking-status links, and manage operator subscriptions.
- To communicate with you: Send system emails about accounts, booking requests, trip updates, route activity, and service updates via Resend.
- To deliver requested calculator estimates: Send the one-time estimate email you request. This does not subscribe you to marketing emails. We send occasional tips or product updates only when you separately opt in, and each marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To improve the Service: Understand how people use PetDrivr and fix problems.
- To show you relevant advertising: We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure the performance of our ads and to show PetDrivr ads to people who have previously visited our site. This data is processed by Meta in accordance with their data policy.
- To enforce our terms: Detect fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
- To comply with law: Respond to valid legal requests.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
3. Information We Share
We share data only in these limited circumstances:
- With operators, by design: When a pet owner submits a booking request, the selected operator receives the contact, trip, and pet details needed to review and manage that request. Operator phone numbers and email addresses are not displayed publicly to unauthenticated visitors.
- With service providers: We use Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Vercel (app hosting), Hostinger (website hosting), and Meta Platforms, Inc. (advertising pixel and retargeting). These providers process data as needed to deliver their services to us and, in Meta's case, to enable retargeted advertising on Facebook and Instagram.
- For legal reasons: If required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
- In a business transfer: If PetDrivr is acquired or merged, your data may transfer to the new owner, who will be bound by this policy.
4. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies for:
- Session management: Keeping you logged in.
- Analytics: Understanding how the Service is used (page views, search terms, feature usage).
- Advertising and retargeting: We use the Meta Pixel (a tracking script provided by Meta Platforms, Inc.) on petdrivr.com and our free tools, including the Pet Transport Pricing Calculator. This pixel collects information about your visit — such as pages viewed and actions taken — and shares it with Meta so we can show PetDrivr ads to you on Facebook and Instagram. Meta may use this data in accordance with their own Data Policy.
Opting out of advertising cookies: You can limit retargeted advertising through your Facebook Ad Preferences, the NAI opt-out tool, or by enabling a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser. You can also disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect site functionality including staying logged in.
5. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.
- Route data: Routes you post are visible until you remove them or close your account.
- Booking request data: Retained as needed to provide booking management, trip updates, customer records, and related support.
- Usage logs: Retained for up to 12 months for security and troubleshooting.
- Calculator email records: Delivery records are retained for abuse prevention and troubleshooting. Optional marketing preferences are retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Payment records: Retained as long as required by applicable law (typically 7 years).
6. Your Rights
All users
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your account and associated data.
EU and UK residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the EU or UK, you also have the right to object to processing, restrict processing, and data portability. Our legal basis for processing is performance of a contract (operating your account) and legitimate interests (service improvement, fraud prevention).
You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California residents (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of the Meta Pixel to enable retargeted advertising may constitute "sharing" of personal information under California law. You can opt out of this sharing by using the Facebook Ad Preferences tool or by contacting us at hello@petdrivr.com.
To exercise any other rights, email hello@petdrivr.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and secure database hosting through Supabase. No system is 100% secure — if you discover a security issue, please report it to hello@petdrivr.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email when we make material changes. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
